Bellcenter-1

Well I take back what I said in my previous post … Sid is still a kid. After i attended last night’s game, i finally realized just how many times Crosby goes crying to the refs. Five! Five times! For a preseason game I was shocked to see how much he complained. Either this guy is really intense or simply a baby. It wasn’t only the crying that bothered me but the way he embellishes everything to get the refs to call a penalty. He embellished the Markov and Komisarek penalties. Markov got called for slashing and Komisarek for roughing. For a guy his size and talent he could be a candidate for a WWE fight. It seems every time a play comes to a stop, he’s discussing something with the referees. Enough about Cry-sby, the player that stole tonight’s show was Alex Kovalev without a doubt. He scored a goal and assisted two others. He may have coughed up the puck a few times but he definitely made up for it. Now the only question is can he play like this way during the season! Dare I say the Stanley Cup…on second thought, maybe not.

Off the ice and in the stands, it was a full house at the Bell Centre. The fans were as intense as a regular season game. I went to this game with Dave Gross and we were amazed to see how crazy some fans were. One fan had his shirt off, another had one of those crazy loud horns, and one guy decided to chant that ever so classic Habs songs; “Les Canadiens, Les Canadiens sont la.” He even got our entire section to sing along with him. I asked Gross to film it but he couldn’t get his camera out in time. Amateur!

Well, tonight’s game features everyone who didn’t play last night. Koivu, Higgins, Ryder, Hamrlik, not Brisebois, and Latendresse headline tonight’s game. I am very interested to see how Carey Price and Jaroslav Halak will play against Evgeni Malkin and company. It should be fun to watch. Don’t forget to tune in for the first episode of HabsCast tomorrow. It will be a dandy!
