Is Huet A Legit #1 Goaltender?

Huet Number One

Information
- Drafted in 2001 (around 26 years old).
- Discovered late in the French/Swiss hockey leagues.

Honors

- Albert Hassler Trophy (MVP French Elite League) 1997/98
- Jean Ferrand Trophy (MV Goalie French Elite League) 1996/97 and 1997/98
- Jacques Plante Trophy (Best GAA Swiss National A League) 1999/00 and 2000/01
- Roger Crozier Saving Grace Award (Best Save% NHL) 2005/06

Regular Season Statistics (Montreal)
- 2006-07 GP: 42 GAA: 2.81 SV%: .916
- 2005-06 GP: 36 GAA: 2.20 SV%: .929
- 2006-07 GP: 6 GAA: 1.96 SV%: 934

Obviously the glaring stat is GP (under 50 both years). Huet’s health has been an issue over the past 3 seasons. But it seems whenever he does play, he puts up great numbers.

Question: If you couldn’t have Luongo, Brodeur, or Kiprusoff as your starting goalie, would you be happy with Huet as you’re #1?

Huet is a great goalie to have, especially for the reason that he shouldn’t play more than 50 games. With as much depth as the Habs have in net, they need game-time to develop Price and Halak. I mean how many great goalies have been developed under Brodeur? (apologies to Scott Clemmensen)
Which makes me present the question to you guys - how f’d are the devils when Brodeur finally hangs up the skates?

halak is a fuckin stupid goalie they only need to develop price and play both huet and price as the ducks did with guigure and bryzgalov
